the 2X or more is for me; now in reserve, just in one team, it have 3X signal set (2X HF and 1X UHF). well the signal set is ok but the battery is the real killer.
as some had mention for those doing heli ops, they bring 2-3 fullpack per sections for self sufficient which is incorrect. that is how the discussion had come to this point.
my time 70kg +/- per pack is oni for 48hrs ops which we will have 1 re-sub on the way (that is if S4 can make it in time).
now i am to be self sufficient for not less than 80hrs.
btw, the dummy mag is slightly lighter than a fully loaded mag. -

Are you guys sure about the weight of your FBOs? Mine certainly did not seem close to 70kg.
Here's a rough breakdown of the heaviest load i had to carry in the army:
Food + Water == 7kg
Water = 4kg (varies depending on pers pref)
Food = 3 Kg (ditto)
----------
Equipment == 12kg
Rifle = 4 kg
Comms = abt 8kg
Ammo = --
---------
Std Field Pack Items + Helmet == abt 10
--------
Total == abt 30kg.
Not including ammo (OPSEC), Including some CV Items.

Seems like i've had a pretty good life in the army....

there are times where Guardsman need to manpack milan and spike where the LSV cannot access.

Back in my old days, fight for atec at taiwan lame weight we carry, im a 2nd saw gunner, i forget we got standard battle order load, i was carry like 15x30rds 5.56mags... Somemore kao shiong no saw mark3a only got mark2 put abit weight. carry so many shit items.. Whole atec fired not even 1 mag.. lol
