that, btw, is the sew-on version because there is also a metal version. its pretty small; smaller than a ranger tab. worn on the right breas.t pocket.Originally posted by Gordonator:
The metal version is for No 3 uniform, isn't it? I've seen the CO of 3 SIR wearing it on his No 3 on one occasion.Originally posted by quivalen:that, btw, is the sew-on version because there is also a metal version. its pretty small; smaller than a ranger tab. worn on the right breas.t pocket.
and to say that some WO's have it would be wrong...its more like WOSEs - SSG Ivan from PTW has one! :-p
In case you don't know, there are still cooks in SAF, just that they are base overseas.Originally posted by quivalen:don't talk cock lah. no such thing as cooks in the army already.
ah yes well i overlooked that. anyway what i meant was that there are no cooks in the common context of the army and certainly none who might be wearing a red beret, which is what the poster who first brought it up said.Originally posted by Dalforce:In case you don't know, there are still cooks in SAF, just that they are base overseas.
Tink there are some cooks frm SAF at Taiwan when I was there for army attachment.Originally posted by Dalforce:In case you don't know, there are still cooks in SAF, just that they are base overseas.
no forgetting in the navy also. don't play play. some cooks aboard those RSS are 2SG u know.Originally posted by Dalforce:In case you don't know, there are still cooks in SAF, just that they are base overseas.
I see.I was from Logistics..so seeing this badge is something rare.Originally posted by quivalen:that, btw, is the sew-on version because there is also a metal version. its pretty small; smaller than a ranger tab. worn on the right breas.t pocket.

no lah its a US badge. i think the course is called the special forces detachment officer course or something like that. not at all sure about that though. anyone know?Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Is that a new tab? Since when one? Who gets it?
Yep it's a US tab.Fort Bragg is where they train I think..The cloth tab was approved by the ArmyÂ’s Chief of Staff on 17 June 1983. The Commander, U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center (USAJFKSWC), Fort Bragg, NC 28307-5000, may award the Special Forces Tab to any individual who has successfully completed the Special Forces Qualification Course or the Special Forces Officer Course.Originally posted by quivalen:no lah its a US badge. i think the course is called the special forces detachment officer course or something like that. not at all sure about that though. anyone know?
yes all oversea badges and tabs are worn on the right. example US Ranger, Special Forces on the right upper arm, oversea airbornce, pathfinder etc above the right b.reast pocket.Originally posted by kaka_22:By e way the tab is worn on the right side.....cause i tot left is for local, right is for overseas.....![]()
