i got this REC he like to share informations with his fellow serviceman like those ops stuff missions etc. can i know what he would be charge with if he was caught???

haha everything on SAF document is restricted or confidential one mah.. what did he do exactly? if what he did cause harm to others or cause a failure of an operation then he deserve some punishment. else forget it. anyway u are only a PTE. if u really feel that this is something serious, talk to ur immediate superior... but if its something mediocre, i doubt he would bother.Originally posted by martin_lim85:but the info on my doc stated there confi -

Generally speaking i don't think you need to worry about it. Humans talk!! and you folks are all in the same unit, simple as that. Although said REC might not be involved in the unit ops nor the ppl whom he shares it with, i would think it is harmless UNLESS he starts discussing this with others outside of your unit (or ppl not involved with it).
Another way to look at it is, what's his motive of discussing it with others? is it in a general conversation that it pops up "eh.. you know tmrw's ops involves xxxx of vehicles, the paperwork damn siong can??" or does he talk about it to flaunt his access to such info?
And you would be amazed what is classified "confidential" i.e. COA's movement (funny how all of us had his movement in our PDAs), shuttlebus timings in MINDEF, Table of Precedence (TOP)... -

Classification of documents sometimes do not make sense at all.And innocuous data by themselves might be harmless, but when combined or presented in a different way could deserve a higher rating.

Btw, who said RECs are not allowed access to sensitive info?It depends on your appointment and your clearance.I did my stint as a Project Clerk as a REC and PTE.And there were a few others around like me too.. -
I'm at TRADOC. Some documents really i can't access sia... Every cupboard will have a scanner and will scan your pass for clearance coding. Those denied access will sound an alarm where RPs will be activated to go to the building

And all this while i thought their best security measure was to get someone lost in the bloody maze of corridors, stairways and lifts. he is the base despatch clerk, so u could see any of the doc he send to me. the worst thing is that he might talk out to others about the ops stuff in my sqn. somemore he was the one covering my post when i was hospitalised. and i might afraid that he might leak out the secret stuff i have kept in my strong room
