Sign On: JPSDS Sergeant Bond, Wise?

as u all know or maybe not know that i have applied for the JPSDS

i apply for signal specs last year ard July/August and everything was cleared on the 27 Sept 2004 (the interview, the medical, the NAPFA).
i got no reply from them since then.
i tot i am not selected or something....
den suddenly out of the blue today...
they sent me a letter that goes
Dear ________,
INTERVIEW FOR THE POST OF COMBAT MEDIC UNDER THE JPSDS
and in the letter they ask me to bring along photocopied documents which i already gave them on my first visit.
Can you people give me your advice? -

this is entirely possible. even though we may choose certain vocations when we intend to sign on, it is really up to them to decide if we end up there, based on their need. in the meantime they may ask you to go for interviews for other vocations. if you are adamant, and only want to sign on as a signal spec, then you will have to make your wish known. but you can also call up arc to confirm that there wasnt any mix up or cock up somewhere. -

who gets into medic ?
ppl with med degrees only? -
the time? hm.. perhaps its because of the JPSDS award. they probably process such awards in batches, rather than on an individual basis for walk-in applicants. also, they probably do such processing at fixed times of the year, perhaps once every quarter, to meet certain deadlines or to coincide with the education calendar. i guess before this letter, you did not attempt to call them up to enquire?Originally posted by kwlee:i already sent an email to them, but seriously, does it take almost 6 months for them to get back to me ? -

The highest rank u can get is senior medic. But tink oso need to chiong sua. My advise is just go for the interview lor. Even if they accepted you, you can reject them in the end rite?

combat medic lol IV yourself dude.
combat medic is to cheong sua with infantary unit. platoon movement to company movement to battalion movement to atec.. lol armed with sar21.. cheong sua.. strecher.. cheers... run run dude..u will be mostly section 1 whereby pc runner pc himself and u together.. -

i got electrical technician....that was way back in 1991....that was what i chose also....well...any regrets?....ORD liao....what do u think???

All I can say is that if you need the $...just sign on.....whether u want to make a career out of it....it's up to u...but i can tell u one thing...if u sign on....u better be a scholar(SAF Oversea or President)....or else ur life will be dictated by these SOBs..... can tell when u ord from SAF and get into the real world just like me after 14 yrs in the navy.....i realised that i'm just like a frog in the well....lots of things to learn...no more protection....and u will be in for quite a cultural shock....luckily i sort of got used to it...
