Dr Wee Kim Wee, fourth president of the Republic of Singapore passed away recently. i was wondering whether SAF will be practising half flag within these few days?

The public may pay their last respects at the Istana from 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm on Tuesday and from 9:30am to 9:00pm on Wednesday. -- CNA

As a mark of respect, the State flag on all Government buildings will be flown at half-mast from Tuesday to Friday. -- CNA -

SINGAPORE : From Tuesday, the public can pay their last respects to the late Dr Wee Kim Wee at the Istana.
The public can do so from 12 noon to 9pm on Tuesday, and from 9.30am to 9pm on Wednesday.
As a big crowd is expected, Police have advised the public to be patient and obey the instructions of ushers and police officers on duty.
There will be security screening at the main entrance of the Istana.
To facilitate this process, visitors should avoid carrying bags or metallic items such as nail clippers, scissors, pen knives and swiss knives.
No video taking or photography is allowed within the compound.
And members of the public are reminded to dress appropriately.
Those dressed in shorts, singlets, sandals or slippers will be barred from entering the premises.
Please take note of that. -
btw, does anybody know the procedure for half-mast in the army?? does the guy raise the flag to halfway(or 2/3) and stop there or does he raise all the way before lowering to hlaf-mast.???
this may seem like a stupid question BUT today my school got an mail from ministry in the afternoon, regarding flag lowering at the end of today(tuesday). the instruction is to rasie the flag from half mast up to the top first, FOLLOWED by lowering it all the way down........
anybody know for what reason?? dun ask me...i overhear the pricipal saying to the attendant. -

when raising the flag, all flags are to be raise to the top 1st (state flag 1st followed by SAF and Army flag). after which, lowered the Army flag down 1st to 1/2 postion followed by SAF flag, also to 1/2 position. as for lowing the flag, the procedure is the same. go up 1st then down.
