Yes, u have to pass SAF's cdo and SOF course/selection, SPF's STAR, SPEAR, SECCOM and SCDF's DART and HAZMAT course before u can go for the 2 mth ranger course. All in all will take u about 3-4 yrs preparation. Hope it helps.

anyone, regular or nsf, can volunteer. go for selection test... usually easy to clear... the tough part is when u r inside. best to find a buddy for the course to push each other. memorise the ranger creed and know all the knots. then load yourself with carbo before course and keep physically training intensively with minimal sleep....Originally posted by crazy monkey:my fren volunteer but was turn down, most slots are reserve for regulars. -

imo, ranger course the shiongest. cos throughout u have to endure. unlike STAR, only 2 week shiong, the other parts got quite some NATO and other self-defense wayang skills which is classified as USL* 1 and wat arm retaining drill or is it called arm restraining drill...bo hiew.
SOF i think also similar to STAR but shionger, after the shiong part then ok liao. then i think will have the usual majiam WWF ask u if u wanna give up and wat psycho things lah. Vit B/C make sure stock up....will help in alot of ways...wats ways u have to find out urself.

Saw a pic of my commando fren in it crying in pain there should be the indication that its tough, also heard got something called hell week wah after he came out ar no muscle all bones one

Ranger can wear specs right? thats what my fren told me, they got learn high altidude low opening and paratrooping with t-10c parachute or not
