training in hot weather?

  Next time in real war where the weather is 35C. you tell yr ememy cannot fight a war cos it's too hot!!!

  I actually disagree with those who imply that the SAF only breeds fair weather soldiers. Imo, anyone can learn to be uncomfortable; its not rocket science. Therefore, i agree with the SAF's stance on safety first.
  
  After all, 1 more dead soldier is 1 less person for the enemy to shoot at and i less person to shoot at the enemy.

  indeed.
  
  its a balance between realistic training and safe training. while we wish to achieve both, we must not forget either. certain risks can be taken if there is value, and the risk is calculated and manageable. however, other forms of risk which does not add much value to training, or is not easily manageable, should not be ventured upon, unless there are other compelling reasons.

  aiyah! NS now have so many welfare, and it gets better with each passing year. Think it'll becomes an outward bound school eventually.
  Instructors are now more worried abt hurting u after the commando dunking incident!!! so enjoy ...

  Yes Kanchanaburi!!! Been there more than 10 years ago. Yea, canteen there power. Still remember the Tom Yam noodle at the canteen. Used to have whole crab, a few whole prawns in it. Do they still have the 'F_U' lizards there? Every evening go canteen got 'F' by a lizard

  I think you guys forgotten Lancer Brunei. My impression is that Brunei is hotter cause midday will alway hit 40+C. Always red flags!

  don't worry too much, if the weather is really v hot, your safety officers will stop the training....
  if they don't, the medics have the power to, and are SUPPOSED to stop the training (with valid reason)
  
  if you start feeling disoriented, confused, giddy, don't know what you are doing etc......
  FALL OUT and see your medic, who will most prob bring you to the medical centre.......
  
  don't worry too much, only the most severe cases of heat injured die........
  aka.....
  don't garang and train til you have heat stroke (comatose most of the time)
