Oh man, you sound like a pu ssy. I really really hate the PC notions that you seem to stand for. You seem destined for a posting in some HQ...Originally posted by vIn.Warrior:hmm.
hope it'll convince me.
though i still feel using vulgarities is uneducated, uncivilised and that person definitely has lack of proper usage of English vocabularies.
and it pulls SAF down the drain as it's just like those Mr Ah Bengs in HDB void deck shouting vulgarities. aren't they the same?
i dare not think further.
maybe one day SAF should stop this.
not a CORRECT way to lead your men.
prove me wrong?
i'm not sure.![]()
these are all a matter of personal values. what is not right to one, may not seem so bad to another. so, to each his own.Originally posted by lwflee:Oh man, you sound like a pussy. I really really hate the PC notions that you seem to stand for. You seem destined for a posting in some HQ...
And imo, as long you can consistently get your men to do things, you are a good leader. When you are put in a leadership position next time, try asking ppl nicely to help clear the signals store/armskote/etc. Good luck.
One-Niner => Hey, where and who did yoiu hear that phrase from? I've only heard it from one person, and that was in SISPEC?

Vulgarities is indeed uncivilised. However, in the armed forces (even those from other countries), it is part and parcel of life in there. So instead of the typical hokkien profanities, one will probably hear in different languages "Soldier, you FUCKING get down and push the FUCKING ground away till I am FUCKING satisfied."Originally posted by vIn.Warrior:hmm.

i've something to ask.
are Vulgarities still used in the ARMY?
isn't that crude?

Your views are honestly, in my opinion, highly admirable. I for one did not enjoy the cursing/swearing-of-profanities culture in the SAF.
However, ultimately, your views are way too idealistic. I guess you have yet to be exposed to the Army life, but you must realize that Army and civillian lives are two totally different worlds. Stepping on Tekong is somewhat akin to stepping on an alien planet - the culture there is totally different.
I'm not asking you to enjoy swearing and cursing people. I'm asking you to have an open mind and be willing to accept new circumstances which have been forced upon you. And believe me, those circumstances WILL be forced upon you once you enter the Army. Your extremely narrow field of vision isn't going to get you anywhere far.
