Meaning an inspection by your superiors of absolutely anything. This usually results in some serious Tekan-ing
Alert Red
An exercise carried out to test the combat readiness of a unit/platoon. This usually involves gearing up in your FBO, camoflaging oneself, drawing your weapon, and assembling on the parade square. This exercise is usually timed and the combat readiness of each individual is thoroughly checked. This exercise usually results in some really serious tekan-ing

Stand By is not a means of punishment. It's purpose is to ensure that the living/common areas of the camp are maintain at the appropriate level of cleanliness. This does have a bearing on the health of all concern. I, for one, never use Standby as a punishment for my juniors in unit when I was active.
Alert Red is not an exercise (any regulars here care to correct?) nor, again, a tekan session. It is for real for the units involved. Meaning, if ANYTHING were to happen, that unit and units supporting it would have X hours to respond to that emergency, ie Hotel New World collapse. Alert Red is not a joke although it can be a bother to be always in No. 4 and your ‘wife’ is always arounf you
