You can take national service as a test of your character's strength. You will be able to see if you can endure the physical strain, emotional toll, not to mention the politics going on inside the organisation. Don't fail it. The world's essentially a bigger version of the SAF.

Let me add that it is worse in the outside world, with backstabs costing jobs and paychecks. In the SAF, you can meet people in the same situation as you, where you can share your worries. If you are lucky, you will get nice superiors for an even smoother route to ORD.
In the outside world, rarely does your boss look out for you. You might well take the SAF as a place to learn about how people work. -

Armour huh...not easy.Not a chance to revocate unless on medical grounds.
Well, take care inside and if you can tahan it..do complete your NS asap.Get out early since it's apparent that it doesn't mix well with you.

I'm surprised that no one here has told you the ultimate keng technique - go to the highest floor of a HDB flat, look down, then jump - no more problems, no more worries.
IMPORTANT: Looking down is important - if there are people below, wait for them to move away first before jumping. This is to avoid harming the innocent.
