The only year armour will win is when armour no need to do OVMs, no need to do LRI, and spend their free time taking IPPT.

1997 where 3 SIR is the BCU.
1998 where 1 SIR is the BCU.
2002 where 40 SAR is the BCU.
2003 where 1 GDS is the BCU.
anything from 1997 back din bother to find... dun really remembering how many a time 3 GDS got BCU? is it once, twice or thrice BCU.
that when bad blood form between the 2 units. -

Things dun look good between CDO and GDS when 7 SIB was accorded elite status on 1 Apr 1978. The sub-units then included 1 Guards, 2 Guards, School of Commando Training, 1st and 10th Commando Battalions. 7 SIR was transferred to 3 SIB.
and... ... ...
On 1 Jul 1980, the Commando sub-units were transferred out. 7 SIR was reverted to 7 SIB and renamed as 3rd Battalion Singapore Guards (3 Guards).
the same year 1980, 7 SIR was BCU and the following year BCU as a GDS unit. -
Guardsmen or Commandos only 'boyz scout' to me. BCU should go to GUNNERS!
