New Ambulance Fleet Arrives!from armynewsInteractiveA yearÂ’s development by HQ Army Medical Services, in collaboration with Defence Science Technology Agency and Singapore Technologies Kinetics, has resulted in a new Army ambulance. Officially unveiled by Chief Of Army, MG Desmond Kuek on 16 May at the Army Safety Exhibition, the new ambulances are now in use for Our ArmyÂ’s peacetime and operation requirements.

Decked in red, white and yellow, the new ambulance boasts many state-of-the-art features, notably the Advance Life Support Equipment that provides early intervention and continued supportive care en route to the hospital, thus enhancing survivability. A more spacious cabin as compared to the existing Land Rover ambulance also allows more casualties to be transported.
The new stretcher loader system makes lifting casualties into the ambulance much easier. This, coupled with improved ergonomics, helps prevent work-related injuries to our medics as well as boosts their morale and confidence as they strive to provide quality medical care to our soldiers.
MSG Mazlan, a combat medic, said, “The new ambulance is more user-friendly and the stretcher loader system requires less medics to operate. Loading is also now done at a more comfortable chest level.”
