i kinda am against the usage of gloves...like unnatural like that....Originally posted by nightzip:use gloves, go to canteen and buy, those onto cover the palms one, but fingers is free to wiggle. And MUST season the gloves first.
Else can go to beach road and buy during weekends.
Remember to train more on your triceps and biceps, arm power. When doing gyms, do more reps in lat pull up etc.![]()

try blacktaping your hands prior to the SOC training or using those Primapore tape(commonly found with medics) 2-3 rnds across the wrist would help.Originally posted by Rockhound:i kinda have a problem doing the swing trainer of the SOC...

wat does taping around the wrist do?....Originally posted by one-niner:try blacktaping your hands prior to the SOC training or using those Primapore tape(commonly found with medics) 2-3 rnds across the wrist would help.
With regards to gloves.i recalled u needed to be certified sweaty palms by the MO before your alloweed to wear gloves.
dame sorry ..not the wrist ..just woke up when typing .haha ..no ard the wrist no pt ..haha ..ard the palm where your palm and fingers join usually over the callouses that forms.Originally posted by Rockhound:wat does taping around the wrist do?....
anywaes....i think everyone will agree that practicing is still the best remedy...
i see....so taping is ok huh?...gloves require MO confirmation?Originally posted by one-niner:dame sorry ..not the wrist ..just woke up when typing .haha ..no ard the wrist no pt ..haha ..ard the palm where your palm and fingers join usually over the callouses that forms.
Well i tend to use a cycling motion on my legs to get the body grooving though, it might help ..
Yes, but its quite a norm ( by left as some ppl put it) in units that the men wear gloves normally for SOC even though they can't wear gloves unless they have MO confirmation.Originally posted by Rockhound:i see....so taping is ok huh?...gloves require MO confirmation?
i see...as my fren put it...gotta build up on the defenses for the palms...kinda wondering how ppl treat it...Originally posted by Eiizumi:Well, my advice is simply let time to recover the injuries or watever caused on your hand, this will make them season.
I still remember I never gave up on this for doing don't know how many umpteen SOCs with a week. Once its "dried" up and seasoned, you should have no problem.
As for going 3/4 way thingy, just bear with the f--king pain, and finish it lah! If you lose you momentum for the swing trainer, you're just wasting your SOC timing.
No point re-doing the stupid obstacle again. You'll get pek chek.
used to use "ching chao u" wah paing ....helps to dries up the wound. During my BMT, PTI made us clear obstacles ..then after the SOC session, tekan us ..make us knock it down in the same, then our hands all blistered, the sand all got into the blisters, no choice go back bunk, wash off under running tap...Originally posted by Rockhound:i see...as my fren put it...gotta build up on the defenses for the palms...kinda wondering how ppl treat it...
some leave the blister to heal itself naturally...some pierce the thing to drain it....very different methods i usually put some chinese medicated oil thingy to make it dry faster......how bout u guys?...
Be quick to build up momentum....then don't stop to thinkOriginally posted by TVaddict:the most impt thing is wrap the whole palm across the bar and not just the fingers or half the palm...
yeah...Originally posted by nightzip:then again maybe its your technique.
if your a men in unit, you can always ask your sergeant if you can go there or he accompany you to go there just to train the swing trainer every day like during evening before meals etc....
but if you in BMT, i dun think you have access to the SOC obstacles as it is dangerous to go alone, let alone you a recruit. so then the best is when you go out in weekends, go to your jc, poly or playground or sec sch and train using their monkey bars.
use the 1 bar 1 hand technique or try the 1 bar 2 hand technique (for weaker people), i.e. left/right hand on both starting bar, then left hand on next bar, then right hand go over to the same bar then left hand again to the next bar, etc....![]()
