Kena PES C1L3.... I believe the IPPT can excuse you up to 2 stations right? Re-confirm first.
Chao Kengster.
Ya excused up to 2 stations, you got hand problems is it? Excuse Upper Limbs?
Anyway good that you're a L3, means field camp most likely you can go back bunk and can't be deployed outfield or sth like that.

As long as you OOT from BMT, you will have to go for reBMT either about 1 year after service or close to ORD. If you are going to be PES upgraded back, its likely you will go for a reBMT latest by about 1 yr service time and after reBMT, be posted to a combat unit and not back to whichever service vocation they have posted you to.
sounds noob but what are the requirements to pass bmt ar?

that's just the ippt part.
You still need to complete field trip, pass shooting test, rifle test and dunno what else la.
paiseh.. read wrongly..
pass-out of BMT just pass 2 out of 3:
Range
Field Camp
IPPT
Seriously i've never known anyone who fails range in the end even if they are really bobo shooters.
I think your sergeants and pc will just cover up for you.

- PTP ( 1 month )
for those who fails to obtain a silver for your NAFA/IPPT before enlistment, you will need to go for Physical Training Phase (PTP) before your BMT. u will be trained in physical exercise everyday which includes running, circuit training, gym and swimming (for those who can't swim) etc. during this period u will also be taught simple foot drills and undergo some short distance route march.
- BMT ( 2 months )
the highlights of BMT includes,
Foot drills and rifle drills
Weapon handling (M16)
Standard Obstacle Course (SOC)
Individual Marksmanship Training (IMT) (think of it as a arcade game)
Range (shoots with live rounds)
Indivividual Fieldcraft (7 days field camp in the jungle of tekong)
Grenade Throw
SIT-test (test of your leadership skills)
Route marches (a few 8km plus a 16km and 24km at the end of BMT)
Basic Close Combat Training (BCCT)
is it true that PTP people will enlist earlier than the rest?
I'm totally shocked by the high standards of even getting a silver. time to go do some training man...
PTP guys will enlist 1 month before their BMT counterparts and overall serve 2 yrs while the fitter guys do 1 yr 10 months.
when they say report at 8.30 am for enlistment does it mean 8.30 at BMTC or 8.30 at pasir ris interchange???
pasir ris.
There's no way you can fail live range.
There are ALOT of people who will fail in reality. But your sergeants and sirs will just fake the scores. They obviously will. The reason?
If you fail the test, you have to retake. That means your sirs will stay with you for 3hrs in the day and another 3 hrs at night at live range AGAIN. PLUS, there's alot of planning and logistics to retest.
Frankly speaking, there's no way PES A and B batches have the time to retest. They'll just pass you and finish it off.
You will only fail if you really really screwed your rifle handling during range. Which you won't unless your really stupid. You'll have a load of stimulated training before you live.
Its damn hard to fail field camp too. Your mates will help you unless they're all bastards.
The easiestone to fail is IPPT, esp if the examiner is strict, which probably won't be.
Conclusion: U will only fail and retake BMT if you really don't give anything at all. U shuld pass if u just dump 50% effort.
ya range, at the most u go reshoot once. and even if u still bobo, they will just cover up the scores.
field camp, as long as you attend, confirm pass also.
and i needa ask, pes c status was temp, and it expired. are they going to call me up for review, or do i have to call them and make my own appt?
i heard from my clerk, if i just leave it be, it will be changed back to pes b and near my ord date they will just call me back for the pes b bmt?

What's your pes status?I assume you are not going for CDO or NDU bmt but the mono intake batches(standard bmt) for infantry, combat engineer, etc. If that is the case, the stuff they teach is the same as tekong, less the leadership modules like SIT test. After your bmt,you will most probably remain in the same unit and continue on with your vocational training.
im pes A...but why mono intake...? education level difference? im a ITE grad but i know of other ite friends who went in to tekong...some say mono intake is mostly PR? when was this mono intake introduced and how do they decide if one shld be in mono intake?

They posting you directly to one of the SIRs or other combat formations for BMT right?
Like you said, educational level is one of the factors. In fact, some believe that to be the only factor but there has never been official word on how they select for mono intakes other than the need to be combat fit. Your friends probably got tekong because of better grades that could qualify them for poly or they might have gone for pes c bmt.
I had PRs in my so called "enhanced leadership ptp batch" back in tekong and some even went to sispec after that.So the rumour about PRs mostly making up mono intakes is false. Educational background is more likely a factor than that.
JC and Poly students can go mono intake batches too but they usually go for CDO or NDU mono intakes. That was why I asked if you going CDO or NDU bmt.
I do not know when mono intakes started but I believe it started somewhere in the 1980s,might be the same time as the tekong batches or even earlier than that.So it is definitely not a new thing.
just like snk86 question. I'm given a temp 6 months PES E9L9 status. However, I am to go tekong for a 5.5 induction programme. Is it the same that regardless you are to report to tekong or CMPB, you are not required to shave?

You mean a military haircut? As far as I know, shaved heads are for all recruits regardless of PES status. Unless you're a Sikh, then you will be exempted due to the headgear regulations.
