Jus a brief intro abt myself. I signed on Signal spec durin my poly days. Now in BMTC2 Pegasus Coy. Tommorow monday will be my 3rd week of PTP phase liao.
1) My pay is stil 1200, but accordin to MINDEF wesite i shld be getting 1900
2) I wonder if there is a chance to go OCS instead of SISPEC, if yes will i be treated badly as i a a Specialist convert?
3)There 2 "things" you need to do in OCS to finally get your 2LT rank and that is killing a bird with your bare hands and survive in a jungle 4 days 3 nights ALL ALONE. Is it true?
4)Is a specialist life in army veri "Hard" as in he had to salute all commissioned officers everywhere he go? and the respect he gets is not that much? -

1) Eh friend... you are only in PTP.. havent even in BMT yet leh...
2) Signal specs need to go SISPEC meh AFAIK? I doubt so..
3) Balls to you Recruit! Now there's CSB, i doubt you even have the strength and mind to wank if you are in OCS.
4) When i was in OCS, i never saluted junior officers. Only MAJs and above. -

hard to crossover cos u bonded as a specialist...my fren same case...but in SISPEC..his warrants recommend him for conversion as an officer...so u gotta be damn kilat...fit...mad...if u make it to OCS somehow...instructors there tend to favour crossover trainees...

everyone has to salute officers anyways(junior officers arent big F-s anyways)...think so much also no use...just play ure cards right...do ure job right -

I did told my PC i wan to go OCS. THen i read what WUMING said about OCS and its pretty scary...
What are your suggestions guys? continue my Specialist bond in SISPEC or WORK DAMN HARD to go OCS??? Take into consideration the Pay, retirement age, the respect gained, and the tough training in both schools. -

u are under bond.......
nearly impossible to go to an officer contract unless u have the x factor... -

ok i have good news and bad news for u.
the bad news is that, u will never make it to OCS. at least for now.
the good news is that no matter how screwed up u are in BMT, u will make it to SISPEC.
