Based on your ORD date, which is 20 April 2006, I assume your enlistment date is on 21 April 2004.Originally posted by AheadOnOurWay:I have a problem and i need some advise. Polytechnic all starts in 17th April next year. My ORD date is "oh-so-nice" 20th April
The current Leave system is such that you cannot bring over Leaves from one year to another. Can someone who was in the same situation (for instance ORDing in March or April) tell me how many days of leaves you get if you ORD in mid/late April?
I just need exactly 4 days of leaves and i can apply to any polytechnic in Singapore. 1 day lesser and i can't. This is a strict polytechnic ruling for NS guys because they won't accept even missing one day of lessons due to ORD date reasons.
Thanks for replying. But according to the MINDEF directive, people who enlisted BEFORE december 2004 can bring Leave ONLY over from 2004 to 2005, but i don't think they can do so from 2005-2006 right? I am not questioning what you said but merely seeking to confirm.Originally posted by tErI-yAkI:Based on your ORD date, which is 20 April 2006, I assume your enlistment date is on 21 April 2004.
Do take note that NSF personnel that enlist before December 2004 will not be affected by the new Leave Scheme.
Hence, you are able to bring forward your leave this year, to next year.
your leave will not be affected since you are enlisted (my guess latest dec 03?) as i ORDing slightly earlier than you (also in Apr)Originally posted by AheadOnOurWay:I have a problem and i need some advise. Polytechnic all starts in 17th April next year. My ORD date is "oh-so-nice" 20th April

As tErI-yAkI guessed correctly, my enlistment date was 21st April 2004. I am only serving 2 years and what i thought was that only people serving more than 2 years can bring their leaves overOriginally posted by duotiga83:your leave will not be affected since you are enlisted (my guess latest dec 03?) as i ORDing slightly earlier than you (also in Apr)

duotiga83 : Your ORD date is around the same time as mine? In that case, are you bringing over your leaves from this year to 06? If you are and you CAN, then i suppose i should be able to do so too.
And to the rest, thanks for the suggestions. However the staff sergeant i am working directly under is not a pleasant person. Even if i can eventually beg 1 or 2 days of OFF from him, i will have to suffer alot of humiliation at the expense of his amusement. I am in no way whining nor being bitter about it, i am just stating fact-wise that there is no way i can get OFF from my superior so i might well find out more about the new Leave system so i can plan my leaves exactly to start poly in time.
Anyway, thanks for the help.[/b]
Yes you may do so, subject to your unit's superior approval.Originally posted by armourer_tab:my ord date is 060606. poly starts around april.I am wondering if i could disrupt for studies in poly???

Also anyone who ORDed in April before can tell me how many days of leave you will have in THAT YEAR ? Thanks. [/b]
