i think it's about time they design a new SBO. imagine with 2 full water bootles and all misc things we carry, all the weight we carry are concentrated at the waist area, is supported by only 2 strip on our shoulders. all those pressure on our shoulders can be excruciating.
the poncho pouch is too small to accommodate a rifle cleaning kit. not only that, soldiers now uses gortex raincoats instead of poncho, it can be hard squeezing a gortex raincoat into such a small pouch. yes it can be done, but it takes time to fold into a small piece in order to fit. with a gortex raincoat inside we won't be able to squeeze in the rifle cleaning kit or combat rations.

the new LBV is a nice improvement where all the weights are distributed equally across our whole upper body. but it still have its flaws, it lack a poncho pouch at it's back. i know one can attach a poncho pouch but it is located at the hip area. wouldn't this make running difficult or when u are sitting down?

the LBV also lacks pouches for water bottles. it got a water bag but i think water bottles is still more useful. for example if someone got burned or injured, one can easily take out the water bottle and wash the wound. somemore a water bottle can be easily pass around and share the water among ourselves.
