Hi ,
If a singapore guy somehow buys the whole SAF uniforms and all the fancy badges and pretends to be a MAJOR in the army so as to use the respected image to first gain trust of civilians and then cheat them of money.Can anyone tell me what is the army's standing and reaction towards such a matter?
I am sincerely wanting to find out and hope that someone who is in the know can enlighten me.Thanks!

Sheesh, just look at what the Brandenbergers did in WW2 and you'll know the importance of having the right person wear the right uniform.

so you haven worn a millitary uniform? If you had, you would had understood the pride and honour of the uniform, and the Crest that you wear on your beret. And the training before you earn the rank. Grow up 1st and serve your NS if your are a Sporean male. asking pple to grow up is rather offensive but i don't think you mean it badly.
i've done my ns btw no pride unfortunately i would attribute it to the facts that i was forced into it and almost half the population wears/wore the uniform.
and oh yeah regarding rank i would say if you were a SG or officer you earned the rank thru training(maybe though i can say its just a course) but for lower ranks, which are the makority, they get the rank simply as a matter of time in fact in the past for cpls its forced onto them.
honour and pride i would understand if it were other than the singapore military where we see ample instances of incompetent officers and specialist who are given the rank not due to their abilities in the areas of work.
maybe my views are extreme or misplaced, i do admit a certain biasedness due to experience and liability. -

if that idiot wants to fake a MAJ by wearing all the badges he can buy, can easily see through him if he wear a army JCC badge, naval diver badge and an air force pilot brevet together.

Star ranks are more 'special'..dun think it can be found on the market unless some general sells his rank on e-bay or something -
browsed the e-mart web site. found that BG rank can be bought online. all epaulette rankcan be bought for only 2.90 for no.4 and 1.55 for no.3.

I rem once during a ICT, some reservists went to sungei gedong to do some of their training
story was that he was just a CPL or sumthing, but he put on a Colonel epaulette and strut around the camp wearing that
didnt get caught, but created a hooha among the men.. -
