According to Channel NewsAsia's video footage, prior to his landing, the freefaller appeared to have drifted from his intended course.
He then landed between the stage and the spectator stands at the corner of the Padang nearest the Esplanade.
Channel NewsAsia understands Master Sergeant Chua, a veteran of some 800 freefall jumps, is now in the intensive care unit at SGH.

Remembered got one NDP(forgot which year but got at least ten years ago) where the commandoes are supposed to drag the flag down from the lighting tower from the stadium using inverted rapelling, I remember got one of the flag was stuck halfway then later got drag down again. Heard from one of my fren who used to be in SOF that acutally one of the commandoes got his fingers stuck with the flag and all his four fingers were severed while trying to free them.

What happened to him in the end? Could his fingers be reattached? That sounds really gruesome. -
