Enlistee Rank Men: Reservist Rank Promotion? Tell Officer?

  You always hear all this talk about promotion opportunities, but have never met or even heard of a private, lance-corporal or corporal get promoted. Seems you have to be a spec before anything happens.

  there are cases of people promoted during reservist depending on unit

  is it that important whether a LCP gets promoted to CPL? he's still a man and as a reservist, be it LCP or CPL, he won't be getting much allowance anyway.

  There was one very famous case. Remember the New World Hotel. This pte was first to be there on his own. Got immediate promotion on the spot to a sargent... Can't remember his name though... But hey, that guy deserved it ....

  In fact i wanted to be promoted during active time, but cannot get it due to some problem but reservist don't want to get it but got it lucky consider as a high key or else waste of time.

  LCP is good enuff la. Why bother to promote and serve extra months?

  why would you want to be promoted during reservist? your allowance is going to be the same anyway, isn't it? well, unless you're still studying that is.

  Sure it can be done. Pte can be promoted to LCP than CPL within 3 in camp.

  There are LCPs and CPLs converted to CPT(Dr) after their reservist MO course..
  
  heard it applies to lawyers too..as some would serve their reservist as JAGs in the Legal Affairs Department..

  Just curious lah. You hear all this talk about promotion, but hardly ever see except with some of the specialists and officers.
  
  Aiyah, at the end of the day, it will motivate some of the men. Pple always like to get recognized for their efforts. However I think sometimes the sgts, pc or oc just too lazy to do the extra paper work.

  u got confirm with ur chief clerk?? cos while i am on course heard alot of rumour saying on course is not consider as high key one..... sad....u what course? which batch?
