Which are the Most Under/ Over-rated Formation in the SAF?

Let's face it.... whatever formation it is you're in, you will think that it's underrated.

erm...have you ever wondered who clears the road for you? if you've ever stopped to think, or have ever worked with engineers before, you'd know. we walk mindlessly for 12 hrs with all our bloody equipment just to clear the path for everyone else. yup, thats field engineers for you. we are definitely combat, but not getting recognition, not even in terms of pay.
it's just bloody unlucky of me to end up being a field engineer. if you want to talk about big ones, we have most of them here. somehow, the army forgot to update the field engineers, so we're doing things pretty primitively. don't believe those nonsense that we clear mindfields using robots. never seen them. we clear minefields by hand using a mine-prodder...guarantee plus chop will have legs all gone if it's the real deal. also, don't forget that we've to build minefields, and a standard minefield is 600 by 400...just imagine digging a hole, arming a mine, covering and concealing, over and over again in the dark. we're also supposed to cover the infantry's ass during retrograde, cuz of the explosives we have with us.
plus. we have to build our trademark bridges. if you've ever seen the largest bridge the saf has, you'd be pretty impressed. now imagine having the good fortune of having to build it by hand. it's made up mainly of panels and transoms, 6 men to one panel weighing 450kg and 12 to one transom weighing 1 ton. it's no joke. sop is to use cranes, but the saf just have to toy with the idea of building it by hand for the aceh incident. heck. on top of all those dangers, we still have to handle explosives...and our pay is even lower than infantry...
engineers can do almost everything in this army, just include airborne training and you have it 90% covered...besides, everything is call the engineers now anyway. need a bridge, 30 or 35. got a bomb, 36. got chem spills, 39. need a house? EDF....what more do you want? -

I think the most underrated units are the logistics guys and the infantry. Why? The logistics guys almost always kena because this or that store missing even though it's probably because the unit that borrrowed it didn't return the stuff or didn't account for it properly. That said at least they usually get a pretty routine work day.
Infantry cuz the Guards and Cdo get all the glory. But lets face it, besides the rappelling bit, the infantry does pretty much everything else the gaurds do. And they don't even get the LSV. At least with some of CE units you get hazard pay.
Overrated? Gaurds lah. Special coloured berets with cap badge backing, LSV, guards shoulder tab, etc. At the end of the day, they are infantry too right? They charge hills just like infantry. The do fibua and fofo, just like infantry. They do heliborne, costal hook and joint amour assault ops, just like infantry. -

I think we were refering to the TKD badge. UC was once no more than TKD. Hence the reference to the TKD badge as UC. I don't think they will be ever be issuing badges for UC. It would be pointless since it would be so very common, and so very difficult to fail.

the $200 is for us to buy stuff required in the unit like the ops shirt, badge, etc...
Then the EOD extra pay is for them to buy the protective bomb suit etc
also, specs don't get so much... as in close to $900, they only get close to $850 nia...
