They had a story abt it.Originally posted by Ponders:you mean incredible tales got to go tekong and film the location??
for me, i dunno if this is the right bunk... because there are people who said its torn down.
nevertheless... the place's quite eerie.
this is near a satellite station.. not exactly satellite but a singtel antennae.Originally posted by SpeedStar:Apologise for my ignorance, but if i have not remenber wrongly, the 3rd door bunk is at the BMTC school which is near a satellite station. This does not look like the one I saw.
what is the story abt the swimming pool??Originally posted by Ponders:this is near a satellite station.. not exactly satellite but a singtel antennae.
OK... just to clear your doubts.... this is block 36 of the old BMTC. Since there a few BMTCs in tekong.... this is the one where you can have a nice view of SIngapore from the pavillion... this is the BMTC where after GAC the first camp site... the one with the disused swimming pool.
it's quite eerie to think about that in 1999... the swimming pool was still in use and just 5 years later... it looks as if its abandoned for 15 years.
how i manage???Originally posted by iveco:God, it certainly looks creepy. By the way, how did you manage to get the photo taken?
K, the "official" story is this...Originally posted by the Bear:C for Charlie Company in Camp 1, Pulau Tekong.
the legend says that some dude went missing during a route march.. after searching, they found a headless body.. the head was never found...
after that, the bunk was haunted until a medium instructed they make a 3rd door for the spirit to "return home"... after which, there was no more hauntings...
Was it true that the deceased had jsut recovered from high fever just before attempting the route march?Originally posted by Ponders:K, the "official" story is this...
anyway.. this story is pieced from those straits times reporters. they managed to trace to the incident (interviewing the then PC)... but MINDEF denied them entry to tekong to see if this 3 door bunk exist.. so they kinda can't finish the story.
early 80s... 84 i think.... after a route march, this recruit was discovered missing, thanks to human error.
search party found him lifeless just off the track they used during the route march.
there are no puncture wounds on the body, the autopsy only concluded a ruptured stomach. most probable cause is he fainted on his muzzle.
it is from here i guess where one person tell another, the story become "stand by organ"
straits times interviewed the recruits PC.
hmm.. my memory is failing me.....
i forgot if they brought the body back to the bunk for possible rescue attempt or what.
then from then on.. i forgot the story... haha...
if i remember correctly, the ruptured stomach is coz he drank water which was cooler than his then-high body temp due to his marching? body is hot & water is cooler so the stomach cannot tahan...Originally posted by Ponders:K, the "official" story is this...
