That depends on your vocation within your unit.
If you're going to be a clerk it won't really matter much...
However, life in combat infantry generally sucks, and support units generally have it easier. Largely due to logistics... since it's always easier to organize training for infantry.
Or so i've heard.

He could be a scapegoat CQ/Storeman, sleeping armskoteman, pencil pushing clerk etc etc... the list goes on.
Though, seriously, chances of that happening aren't high if he's combat fit....
Anyway, if all else fails, there's still the support company to join.
On a side note, Asrama is nearly quite literally 1SIR's backyard now. Training is going to be easier then ever. And they're the only combat battalion in camp, with some other buildings filled up with folks who stay out. Draw your own conclusions about the intensity of guard and COS duties... I'd really hate to be in 1SIR right now.

Actually 6 SIR also chong suah like their 1-5 breathen. They just have the other duties tagged on.
No one mentioned that he could also be going to the support company's pioneer platoon. If so.. I feel sorry for you man.
If regular rifle section... well, could be worse lah. Only time it's truly truly tough might be Brunei and Atec. It can be fun when you get to fire the Matador or M203. -
