Reconnaise scout/pointman

Who has done reconnaise for their platoon first?Or do they call in the scouts/snipers first?

There isn't such a formal role in the SAF. The infantry and guards battalions have scout platoons that are supposed to be the eyes and ears. While at brigade level they have the BRC. Division also has something.
At company or below, it's just the 1st guy from the section. -
Armour also have. During outfield, if we spot them, we get to catch them.

Division hv recce battaliion lah. Commando LRRP not always used for this. -
That happens very often. Esp when exercise one battalion play defense and the other play offense. The defense scouts often times goes "hunting" for the other scouts. It's lots fun. Had an Encik that loved to "guard" them. -
yup every company has a company recce team commonly known as CRT. theres one for the battallion also called BRT. Oftenly follow the scout PL for trg...
Usually trained to do route marking so tat the scouts
walk less times
Other than tat the CRT ride bike to run errands for CSM la !

Well, I'm pretty sure that every Coy has a Coy Recce Team.
In my Coy, it's basically made up of the 'spare' specs and officers. -
