decided to post this separately... hopefully it can inspire response.

i particularly remember...
at ROC, at a harbour area. i and my good friend were placed at the front, guarding the entrance to the harbour area. so we got a clear view infront of us, esp cos our harbour area was not raised ground. so in the night, the two of us took out our mess tins, maggie mee, cooked them, and shared, while chatting under our breaths, admiring the nite sky... ahh...
at the same ROC, harbouring beside a temple. and true enuff to our preparations for rain, it rained - poured. so i practically spent the night, every now and then pushing the ground sheet we put up as shelter, to clear the water accumulated on it, lest the whole thing collapse on the weight of the water, while my buddies (incidentally one of them was the same good friend from above) beside me were sleeping soundly!
at ROC (again), our first delay mission, when i was the MG gunner, and almost died carrying the damned gun walking from the foot of the mountain all the way to almost the top. then if tt's not enuff, before i could rest, was asked by my buddy to help write Ops Order for the delay mission, to be presented in the middle of the night! oh well... wat r friends for...
den at ROC yet again, one of the last missions (advance i think), at night at the harbour area. was resting halfway when was woken up by another friend to help write his Ops Order. and it was a damned cold night! so there i was freezing away, with equally frozen brains, trying to write the orders for him... then my wind comd walked past and saw me and commented my friend was very cruel! heh...
at lancer, jcc, when nite falls at 7 - 8 pm and everything goes dark. nothing else to do, striken with hunger, so went to sleep at 8 pm, or rather, forcing myself to sleep, while listening to the prayer sounds from far far away... every now and then will wake up hoping its the morning, only to discover its like 10 pm, 12 am, 2 am............
lancer jcc, mount biang... those incredibly almost vertical parts of it.. den the almost vertical parts of it again but this time while we are making our ways down! harbouring at a bamboo plot beside the tributaries of batu apoi, and another time beside a little waterfall, amongst rocks and stones, under the moonlight. imagine - the sounding of rushing and falling water throughout the nite and first thing you wake up in the morning! you would have thought you were living in wonderland!
the wonderous and almost indescribable feeling when we finally swam across batu apoi, which marked the end of the jcc. and the same feeling when we finally reached base camp. and the same feeling when we bathed after reaching base camp. and the same feeling when we saw and ate proper food after that!
