Live Firing: Combat Shoot FAQ for Rifle Range

Hope this Combat Shoot FAQ is useful for those who haven't taken their yet. feel free to correct me or add on more tips/info.
Introduction
Combat shoot is only 1 day.
For combat shoot, a team of 6 firers will make up 1 detail. The final score will be the total number of shots added up together. Each firer with get 3 mags of 5 rounds each for both day and night. So each person will shot 15 shots for day and 15 shots for night, total 30 shots per person. So a detail will shoot a combined number of 180 shots, passing is 90 shots, marksman is 144 shots. If u get marksman, everyone in the detail can wear the badge.
the targets used are figure 11 and figure 12, the 2 biggest targets in range. So thereÂ’s no reason why u can miss.
ThereÂ’ll be no IA detail so make sure u do all the necessary rifle cleaning, listen to orders carefully to prevent IAs and getting your rounds wasted.
A feature of the combat shoot is the combat loading for your 3rd mag. No instructions will be given after you finished shooting your 2nd mag, you are to combat load your 3rd mag and continue shooting. I will touch on that later.
You will take up foxhole with support position for both day and night shoot at the 100m point. This is the best position so make sure u do your best.

For day shoot, you will be issued with 3 mag of 5 rounds each. All target will stay for 4sec before going down. ThatÂ’s more time than ATP so donÂ’t rush, take your time to shoot. The sequence of shoot goes like this.
1st mag the 5 targets will come out in fixed sequence for all lanes. The conducting officer will tell u all the sequence so that u all can memorize it before hand.
For example,
Left figure 11, Right figure 12
Right figure 12
Right figure 12
Left figure 11
So as u can see, itÂ’s relatively easy to shoot the 1st 5 rounds, the purpose of this is to help u pass so try your best to hit all the 5 targets.
After shooting your 5 rounds, unload check clear, wait for further instructions. -
2nd mag and 3rd mag, this is where the fun part comes in. firstly take note that no instruction will be given when u finished your 2nd mag, u are required to do a combat loading and continue to shoot your 3rd mag. Secondly the targets of figure 11 and figure 12 will come out in random sequence, take note of your lane number, if u are lane no.2 only shoot target no.2, if u are lane no.4 only shoot no.4 target. So meaning to say, please count 1st before u shoot.
Example,
Keep in mind that u will always have something to shoot at even though that the target might not appear in your lane. Your target might appear in other lane either to your left or right. So if let say you are lane no. 3, your target will appear in lane 2, 3 or 4.
It is very important that u pay full attention when shooting. Always do a count and shoot the correct target. U can crossfire but it is strongly recommended that u shoot your own target.
After u have finish your 2nd mag, quickly unload the mag but do not check clear, load in your 3rd mag and ease spring, your 3rd mag will be loaded. You have 6 seconds to do all this. This is the part where many people will gan chiong and screw up, so make sure u do it quick and good, to prevent IAs because if u IA, youÂ’ll lose your concentration and rounds wasted. -
For night shoot, itÂ’s basically the same as day shoot. The 1st mag will be in fixed squence. Only different is that u have more time to shoot. The targets will stay for 6sec instead of 4sec. You will have 8sec to combat load instead of 6sec. donÂ’t forget to switch your aperture to the big hole.
The only downside to night shoot is that it can be very hard to shoot with big aperture at 100m cos normally night shoot is at the 50m mark. So take your time to aim. -

If I'm not wrong, PES C marksmen still cannot put on the badge right?

Combat loading leh, last time they got so much tsr issues with it, you go and sign 3.

combat loading is fun~~ hehehe....
i had double feeding once, extracted 2 rounds of unused bullets. Then after i shoot all mi other rounds in the magazines, i didn't load up the 2 unused rounds into the mag. Just slotted each of them straight thru the extraction port and into the cauliflower, e-spring and fire off...

It's a chance for you to do live combat loading without getting fcuked for doing it.

Combat loading? what ever happen to the group live fire and movement?
Also, it seems quite basic - the targets still appear in front of your lanes. I remembered Brunei had this advanced live fire open range whereby you adopt different firing positions (prone, sitting, etc) and the electronic targets appeared at random - anything from a figure 11 at 300m to a figure 15 at 50m, plus moving targets at a house. You have to be very alert to scan for the random targets appearing in the open field. What happen to that? -

the only drawback to the combat shoot is that firer no.3 and 4 are at a disadvantage as they need to count more before shooting. first firer and last firer are the best, no counting needed, just shoot at the 1st and last target.

very hard to get marksman for combat shoot. if u got a bobo in your detail, that's it, count yourself lucky if u get to pass.

This combat shoot applies to both HQ and combat personnels? Never heard this before in the past leh. Is this new?

Kns, so good. I kena the earlier version of this combat shoot. Basically, pretty much the same except the targets pop up at bloody random. And got figure 15 somemore. All my specs all cursing n swearing.. hahaha. I guess they dunno how to aim with M-16 anymore. LOL!
