Can one choose his vocation after BMT? -
Hell no.Sadly.
Else I would have been a happy Project Specialist at DTT/MINDEF or a Pioneer photographer...

well. if u are intersted in music, u can try SAF Band. u can request to go for a interview/audition.

They have this super dupper highly top secret bible that helps determine your bloody vocation base on the NEEDS of various units, your medical, etc etc...
Sometimes it is totally crazy to how you gonna spend your next 2 yrs determined by some unknown old xxx / computer...but u just gotta accept their "kindness" lar. Like what they always say...Serve And Fart off -
Funny during my time at the place, we used to have a dart board and assigned vocations and units by where the dart lands lol.
