MP is combat vocation lah. there's combat, logistics and engineering vocations. where got service vocation one?Originally posted by riken1974:MP is considered as a service vocation....in service vocation....it has the least allowance as compared to tech or comabt vocation...just my two cents worth
Yup... Military Police (MP) is a combat vocation drawing combat pay. You will be given S$1,897 as a recruit and after 31 weeks of training, S$2,160 as a 3SG...Originally posted by kwlee:ain't mp getting combat pay?

x2. I've known too many people who got lured by the prospect of easy money only to regret it later on.Originally posted by Gordonator:seduced by the money right? big mistake.
don't anyhow sign on lah, sign on if u are really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really interested in a military career and a regimental lifestyle.
its cool that you actually bothered to find out so much before u sign and i agree that interest plays a big big partOriginally posted by kentheman:i'm signing on too as a MP...went thru 2 interviews alr. now waiting for my napfa..as long i get silver, the contract is ready to sign...
main reason y i sign MP instead of other combat vocation, my interest is there. i have some frenz who are in safpu and i asked them for opinions and thru alot of consideration before i went to apply. 1stly, the interest muz be there. u muz know wat are the jobs of a MP. cannot say u like to guard istana den u wanna sign, cuz most likely, u will be assigned to other sub-company. also, u r being rotated around the 7 different sub-companies in safpu...
do consider properly before u go for the interview..
yup..like u say, it is either a lifelong career or at least 10 yr career..so have to find out more...i dunwan sign contract alr den regret...=)Originally posted by Archtomato:its cool that you actually bothered to find out so much before u sign and i agree that interest plays a big big part
but a word of caution ... signing wif the army from my view for most people is a life long thing or atleast a 8 to 10 yrs thing ...
And u can be surprised to know your interests will change once u see how the army runs ...
Bottom line ... Army anytime also can sign .. after ord also can sign ... but life .. after 6 to 8 yrs u cant do much with it ...
