My colleague at the Combat Engineers camp at Seletar once kena such an incident, gate sentry ordered vehicle approaching to stop, that fella carryon. Gate sentry radio guardroom, their encik came out with a few other guys, and loaded the M16,cocked it and pointed it at the approaching vehicle before the driver finally stopped.Bet that guy must be scared shitless...

FYI, the ROE u had is the old one.....the ROE has been changed after 911....due to terrosit threat.....we are authorised to shoot to kill or maim if the person is attempting to cause damage to SAF properties or life...ever wonder y some unit had a GPMG loaded with 2000 live rounds facing the entrance of the camp....is it to injured or kill????Originally posted by Gordonator:

Seletar camp always got a lot of bo liao things happening. Illegal grass cutters lar, and other nonsense. But nowadays, security tighten a lot liao.

Seriously, very long ago, I remember being issued only 3 rounds for prowling. Basket... that 3 rounds like GOLD like that. We keep that red taped mag, in our SBO inverted in case the rounds drop out. -
But seriously..if u are on prowl on lets say P.Tekong...and see a bunch of unidentified armed frogmen just landing and attempting to infiltrate. Will you fire? Many will say alot about firing...but shooting at paper targets and shooting at a mass of moving flesh and blood is a totally diff. kinda thing.

well the reason for IA Drill aka Immediate Action Drill, is to respone to the situation ASAP.so given the above mentioned scenrio u described,loading the magazine, shouting the ROE and shooting should be almost instantnous ... -

Still have to remember AOJ. Firstly, do they outnumber us? And do we have the ability to engage them and win? If a team of frogman suddenly emerge from the water, I'd report to guard com and panic liao. Hahaha. Most prob they'd "stand to" everybody and mobilize the ready reaction force to back us up.
