I gather you haven't served in the Armed Forces yet? When the magazine is empty, or for some reason, the round hasn't been chambered, the bolt(?) will stay back. You have to press a button to release the bolt into the forward position. We call it 'ease spring'.Originally posted by chronicles:I have seen the U.S army did this before, for the m4 or m16.After pulling the reloading mechanism backwards. They hit the right side of the m16/m4 at the far back.
What for?
should be hitting the left side ba..the ease spring thingy is at the leftOriginally posted by chronicles:I have seen the U.S army did this before, for the m4 or m16.After pulling the reloading mechanism backwards. They hit the right side of the m16/m4 at the far back.

'Press' when you usually doing tactical loading, 'Tap' or 'Hit' when you do it as a drill... Its juz a matter of how he describe the motion wether if he did consider the speed and pressure?Originally posted by lwflee:Actually i don't believe he is referring to the forward assist since it is usually pressed, as opposed to 'hit'.
