Well... I am from the latest batch of bmt enlistees...
Here are some latest information and experiences in BMT
IPPT tests
There will be 4 ippt tests to be conducted throughout your bmt, but only the last one will be the real test.
1st Test: IPPT Categorisation Test
2nd Test: IPPT Diagnostic Test
3rd Test: IPPT Trial Test
4th Test: IPPT Test
Physical Training (PT)There will be a number of different exercises to train u all up.
Most of the exercises are carried out once a week. ST and AGR might will be conducted usually 2 hours.
1) 5BX
2) CPT1
3) CPT2
4) AGR
5) 30:60
6) ST
5BXSTands for 5 Basic Exercise. You will be required to do this 5BX every morning ( yes every morning) right after you revielle.
1) Jumping Jacks (10-20 counts)
2) Alternate Leg Raise (10-20 counts)
3) Crunches (10-15 counts)
4) Push-ups (10-20 counts)
5) Burpies (10-20 counts)
You will also required to run and jog for a distance around 200m-400m after the 5bx.
CPT1Combat PT 1. It is a warm exercise you will need to do for most of the PT exercises. Consists of 10 different exercises.
1) Rear Lunge
2) Bend and reach
3) High-jumpers
4) Squat bender
5) Wind-mill
6) Rower
7) Prone rower

Push-up
9) Forward Lunge
10) Pectoral Stretch
CPT2Combat PT 2. It is a set of exercises to train your abs and your limbs.
COmbat PT 2 take less than an hour to complete. Usually being carried out before PTI arrive for ST or other exercises.
1) Sit-ups (20 counts)
2) Push-ups (20 counts)
3) 3 Climbing drills
Climbing drills mainly trains your chin-ups and SOC. 3 sets of climbing drills: CHin-ups, straight arm pull and hang leg-raise.
AGRAbility Group Run. Recruits are divided into 4 groups based on the timings of the 2.4km run in the IPPT categorisation test. 20mins non-stop run, with timing within 400m.
for example Group A will run 400m in 2 mins 20 secs for 20mins, and Group B will run 400m in 2 mins 30 secs for 20mins....
30:60Another exercise to train for 2.4km run. 30:60 means Sprint for 30 secs and jog for 60 secs. Usually recruits will need to complete 6-10 sets of 30:60. Very similar to the "interval training". Progressively, 30:60 will be increased to 60:120.
STStrength Training. 2 sets of exercise drills. Dumbbell drills and medicine ball drills. Recruits will need to do 10 dumbbell exercises and 5 medicine ball drills. ST will train more on your upper limbs and also lower limbs.
Water ParadesTry to train yourself to drink half water bottle in 1 go.... Some of you will get bloated after it.
Finger PowerA neglected strength. Some companies put less attention to it. Your fingers power and grip are very important tightening things. Fixing and attaching water bottle pouches to SBO really need finger power. You will need to secure straps to the MAXIMUM, in order to reach the standard of a goood SBO. Attaching camo net to your helmet also requires finger power. Making sure the net is tightly fitted to the helmet, needs tremendous strength and skill. My fingers are really swollen after fixing these items.

Standby Bed: Inspection of your cabinet and bed. Messy or dirty earns you the famous knock-it-down-20.... or the latest phrase
"Half-Left-Down 20".
Standby Book: Inspection of your notebook. Instructors want to see what notes and important points you have taken down throughout your lessons.
Standby Fieldpack: Inspection of your famous green school bag. All items must be in the field pack and in the correct arrangement.
Standby SBO: Inspection of the black tapes and things on your SBO. 1 missing L-torch or earplugs get your triceps train better!

Standby Universe: The KING... INspection of EVERY thing you have... All your pockets to be inside out, SBO pouches opened, duffel bag opened. Mostly to be conducted for theft or missing items cases.
