of course i'm one of those sad souls who r now unattached. i will still speak for them into some extent. those ex-jc girls, are normally in universities, working part-time when their bf are in army. so as to say, they are actually proceeding with another stage of their life. a stage of life when they begin to realise what theyy wan and dun wan. university is often the place where ppl meet their lifelong partner.
and when u are getting on with ur life. in this newly unexplored, more advanced level. u bound to see guys who have better qualities, character.. who have matured tru the yrs and the ns-term. these young man who just ord-ed normally have in mind what they want. they normally have a greater insight than man who haven't served.
jc relationships are often like not as sturdy.
becoz, u know that u will still have another level to carry up to. and yes, u need someone to share the pain and tears of studying with u, so when u find someone who matches u. why not?
pardon me for my stereotyping and over-generalising.
but on the other hand, the poly girls having a more sturdy relationship.
why? becoz they are still in an unchanged environment... whereas they r still in poly. the ppl are more or less.. the same lv. environment is still status quo.
even for poly graduates, more or less.. the relationship is expected to last into working environment. which is normally hostile to fresh bloods. simply becoz of the age-difference in ppl. which keeps these young adults to their own clique. and it is harder to penetrate into the hearts of these pppl.
another thing is... just like dilution
u put ppl into the society, it is 'harder' for ppl to match. becoz of the age difference. company size. the approachability of ppl.
in U its difference la.. in the same fac there are just hundreds. which u see daily... there's orientation.. cca. most important of all .. it's a new environment..

sigh, i dont know to think ns as a good thing or bad thing? just to share, i was studying in all-boys from pri sch to sec sch, that's whole 10 years. didnt really get much chance to know girls.
hmm, went to jc got to know someone i like. although i did confessed afterall, i had alrdy prepare to give up eventually because of ns. i know i couldnt be a fufilling partner in a r/s so why plunge into it in the first place? so now, i'm really feeling rather ambivalent because it was a really sweet first r/s for me. enlisting on friday but i think the training will really keep me occupied mentally and physically and maybe time will dilute everything. SIGH.

Well, you should just say Time and Factors do really means something in a relationship. There are too many factors to consider when why a relationship was a failure. when facing breakup.. the ns guys are the fastest lot to forget abt the failed relationships because they are tired everyday... in term of physically and mentally.

i was with my boyfriend since i was sec 2. when i was in sec 4, he had to go NS! (he's 4 years older than me)
at that time, my feelings was of course a bit sad first la. like, huh..cannot see him everyday le.
but after that, i learnt to enjoy my life with my other good girl friends whom i seemed to have neglect before my boyfriend went to NS...>"<
i had so much fun that urm..i didn't really miss him. err..i mean i look forward when he comes out. but i hardly cry every night anymore. i used to cry coz really miss him very much!
and time passes really quickly when he is in NS! so it was really alright for me. i struck a balance between good gal friends and my relationship, so really, i love the situation right now! ^^ at least i'm not zhong se qing you anymore.
so we have been together 4 years ++ le. and still going strong! ^^
he always frown and say why ppl always think that once the guy go to NS, the girl will run away or what. he thinks it's crap because it's not as though the guy cannot come out for like 2 whole years. and also, i managed to survive 1 month when he went to overseas training so he thinks what is there to worry???
