  what is BMTC school 2? the one at tekong.....the 'standard' camp?

  yes it is. u will be spending your whole 2 year of NS there. u will only leave the island after u ORD.

  BMTC stands for Basic Military Training Centre.
  
  You go there to be initiated into the world of soldiering, beginning from the very basics such as discipline, field craft, etc.
  
  Most probably, you won't be mired on Pulau Tekong for two years, unless you finished your BMT, got posted to SISPEC, and after that gotten posted back to BMTC as an instructor. NOW that is sad.

  most of my other friends going bMTc school 1 leh. what others are there?

  BMTC 1 and BMTC 2 are all in tekong... actually is considered 1 camp.
  They divide it into 2 schools. BMTC 1 is the actual Tekong BMTC, BMTC 2 is the previous Nee Soon BMTC. Now it is merged into 1 camp.
  BMTC 1 refers to A to K companies
  BMTC 2 refers to L to W companies
  
  Which means you and your friend will never be in the same company liao...
  But you are luckier, you are nearer to the jetty!! Better scenery and free from that stinky mangroves!

  If ur friend happens to be in the next coy and it just so happens that the coy buildings are ajoined and shared the same corridor then u might happen to see ur friend.
  
  But seriously, all of u are going to be botak, it is sometimes difficult just to spot ppl even they are just next to u. And I can guarantee, u will be so tired that u dun even care abt ur friend liao, u will only care abt: Sleep, Bookout and avoid tekan by sergeant.

  its nice to have familiarity of friends you already know before going in.
  
  but meeting and going through ns with friends may not be that good an idea - in the different context and setting, how one behaves can be totally different! as it goes, "xiang jian hao, tong zhu nan"
  
  chances are the strangers are those who matter most.

  some of the best friends in life u will make will definately come from the army, cos u all eat together, chiong up the hill together, sleep together in the same room, basically see eachother everyday. here is where the memories will start to form.
