Wah.. my fieldcamp coming soon liao....
Need more tips to survive and live in field!!
Any tips to make this trip meorable?
Other tips for the OCS hopefuls like me? -
Dig your section's fire trench with all your might from dusk to 2 or 3am... show your garang-est, determination and willpower. Hardest place to dig is the Camp site of "Permatan".
Lead to sing loudly for route marches from campsite to campsite, keep the spirit up.
Volunteer for any sai-kang no matter how shag you are. -
keep your section spirit high... talk to everyone... joke sing song... plan everything nicely (handle stores n rest timing)...

1) do not ever take off your no.4
2) hang on to your rifle all the time, even to sleep, or else it will get "stolen"
3) do not turn on your touch light at night unnecessarily, if possible, do things in the dark.
4) if possible, throw away your dessert in your combat ration pack before going for field camp. for me i don't eat the dessert cos it's watery and made of fruits, will make u wanna go toilet very often, and while outfield, very troublesome to go toilet. somemore can reduce the weight. but it's all up to u lah. -
stay alert, stay sharp, and apply common sense in a tactical context.
more importantly, be cooperative and helpful, and do things as a team. it's not necessary to always be the leader - a good leader is also a good follower at times. -

and in think it's a good idea to take a dump regularly too ... if you store too much shit inside it hardens the pain comes in bouts and you can't run very well ....

that time the schedule was damn screwed up. field camp starts on saturday, weekend burnt. 7 days later come back on friday afternoon book out, sunday book in, monday starts 3 days SIT test.Originally posted by Fatum:!!! ....

After setting up ur basha, dun unpack everything into ur basha like its some hotel room like that... Take what u need, and throw the rest, EVERYTHING into ur field pack.
Why?
Cos they'd ask u to tear down ur basha and fall in in Full battle order in 5 mins. So, if ur fieldpack is already packed, just tear down ur top sheet, fold all ur stupid pins inside, dun bother take out the stupid string, den keep in ur field pack's side pocket. Ur buddy can keep the ground sheet.
2 mins can full battle order liao.
They ask u to set up in 5 mins, just reverse the process. Hah. Just remember, always always keep everything in ur field pack. Exception to ur SBO, helmet, rifle.
Be prepared to wake up at 3am in the morning to fall in full battle order cos someone's rifle kena stun. -
Tips to handle your weapon:
1) Repeat to yourself everyday when you draw your weapon: "I will always stick myself to my M16."
2) Before going to sleep, unscrew the blank attachment, place it inside your breast pocket. Magazine goes into your SBO. Then, carefully sling the rifle around your leg and body, such that you are resting on the body of the rifle itself.
3) Realise that your weapon can KILL if it falls into the wrong hands. You must never, never let it out of your hand!
4) Repeat to yourself in your spare time: "I will always stick myself to my M16".
A little weapon consciousness will go a long way towards keeping yourself away from those weekend confinements. -
clear ur bowels the very night before ur fieldcamp.
field camp no need to wayang too much... for the ocs hopefuls, SIT test is the most important.. seen lots of oscar winner candidates during my SIT test... -
remind me of training in ROC. cant wait to go outfield for exercise so can find someplace to sh*t because the toilet in camp cannot use toilet paper.

oh yah.. one other tip - pray that it doesn't rain, and pray that your harbour area is on higher ground.

the bed is joint together one like you see shaolin temple.
when bathing have to scoop water from a common pool of water in the end water so dirty and cloudy. first nite out go health centre for shower.
