might sound abit boliao, but this has been bugging me...
If you're on a tonner, sitting near the tailboard, when suddenly u see an car with 1-2 stars on the licence plate, or the driver is a colonel or something like that, do you salute? Coz last week while on the tonner back to camp there was an mid vehicle, 2-star licence plate...i think it was the chief of navy lah. Then we all just act blur. And the vehicle was behind our tonner for quite a distance... -
of course no lah. salute also must see occasion one.

To salute, you have to be standing; to stand on board a moving tonner is a violation of safety rules.
So the answer to your question is NO! -
The colonel will go back home and tell his wife about this chap who saluted him from a tonner while he was driving. His wife will laugh her ass off.

wah.. its damn if you do it, damn if you dont. if you do, he may take note of the license plate and report for dangerous act; if you dont, he may still take note of the license plate and report to the rsm for lack of respect.
i guess it boils down to why the stars are placed on the exterior of their cars.

Since its out of military compund, I dun think u have to pay compliments. Generals are not so free to fault pple for not paying compliments lah, if their ego is big tat they always faullt pple for tat, then I think there's something rally wrong wif the system. Sergeant majors shld be the one enforcing, IMHO.
