PDAs allowed in army camps/bases?

  i work closely with SAF and travel to camps very frequently.
  
  Am thinking of getting a PDA (not those fancy ones with camera/wifi/etc)
  not sure if i can bring them into camps...anyone?

  yes, but must declare at point of entry.

  Are you working in MINDEF or a contractor?If its the latter, just declare it at the point of entry.Anyway SAF related agencies usually do not face much hassle at the guardroom but please understand the RPs are just their job.

  If you do not have to bring ur PDA into a unit, like what others said, declare at point of entry.
  
  If you need to bring in to the unit you are visiting, perhaps you can call the guard room, or the security unit ops room to enquire how you can get LOA to bring the PDA in. Normally they would want your particulars, brand of PDA and it's serial number and will do the necessary coordinating.

  Actually come to think of it. I kinda remember asking my WO about it before. He kinda said it was okay to bring in, and if I need to use it, just use. Hah.

  but serious... what can you do with a PDA????
  
  in camp computers that are sensitive, usually don't have outlet to transfer data.
  
  Those that can transfer data, usually have people around it.
