OFFICIAL policy on SAF items after end of reservist cycle....
SAF items are official never "given" to service personnel but on long term loan.
A serviceman are to keep their items till their liability for call-ups are finished.
However, most items issue to them will be at their end of service life and thus can be disposed off properly.
If the serviceman belives that the items can still be refurbished to be re-issued to other users, they may return the items to ALB.
However, care must be given in disposing their helmet as this is a controlled item. meaning, if you think it is still usable, don't anyhow throw that it reaches on another person hand because possession of anti-ballistic equipment is in contravention of singapore police directives. -

besides ALB, you can return the PE items to National Servicemen Services Centre, CMPB -
Actually, even after u finish ur 10 ICTs, doesnt mean u can throw the stuff away. If a war breaks out, and u are still in the "RESERVE" list, u will be mobilised. At least thats what someone tells me.

I still got my lao jiao boots from 1982 ! One pair left. Somehow, never got to kit-exchange it for some stupid reason or other, such as forgot the actual date to go to the storeroom, or when I got to the storeroom, the storeman said that my size was out of stock !!! When it came to reservist, never bothered to kit -exchange. Just wore my other newer boots.
Somehow my feet have grown a size, so I don't find them comfortable to wear. But they are still good.
