Can be both yes and no...
The medical checkup in CMPB would determine your PES status... and this would subsequently decide your enlistment, posting, vocation etc... If you have gotten PES A, B, C or E, it's confirmed that you'll have to serve NS... unless you have been graded PES F (Exempted From NS)...
Note: Enlistment would usually be around 6 to 9 months after your medical checkup... -
cos my fren forgot to defer when he got the letter. den he told me he heard that he can defer when he go for checkup.. so he wan me to confirm true or not.. dun tink he will fall in pes F... so will be able to defer or not?

If after med checkup call up cmpb and tell them you want to join the next nearest intake, e.g med checkup in Feb ask whether can go for intake in march-july?
