how to do until it shines ?
i see some platoon mates using kiwi then water but when i tried it, it seems to take ages before i see 10% of the shine. their's look as if they sprayed nail polish or glossy black paint on it.

if u want the super shinning type, u must apply kiwi with water and rub it with a cloth to get the shine. but it will take forever to polish it.
or u can melt the kiwi and apply the melted kiwi onto the boots itself. but plese do it with caution. -
use kiwi with fire.

1) Apply THICK layer of kiwi black on the surface
2) Using a cloth or cotton, spread the THICK layer (in rotation) evenly but don't shine it.
3) Use lighter to heat the layer of kiwi.
4) You will realise the heated kiwi will melt and will SHINE.
5) After the melted kiwi shined, it cools down and becomes very blur
6) By using a new part of the cloth/cotton now, dip it in water (squeeze dry) and gently take SMALL portions of kiwi.
7) Now, using rotation manner, polish the boots and results will be SHINY.
8 ) To further enhance its quality, repeat steps 6-7 by adding SMALL portions of kiwi on the cloth/cotton again and polish until boots reaches its maximum SHINY "stage".

u can use flame, but ur boots will be damaged faster

Or let the wax dry for a while before you brush it. And then you spray a little water and wipe/brush it.

but gotta warn ya, a seriously nice shine gonna take hours

Actually I discovered it was much easier to make them shine after field camp...because I washed the mud off with water and left it to air-dry. The leather and the string shrank but after polishing it almost looked like gloss. -
anyway, don't spoil the market by polishing your boots so shinning lah, u don't want to be the odd one out in the whole parade right?
just bush the boots with kiwi and brush it back and forth many time will do lah. It will still shine, though not as shinning as melting kiwi lah. -
My bunk mates did the ultimate: spray paint.
because after field camp, we have to spray paint the tent pegs to black... -

if the whole platoon is average shiny and you raise the standard having super shiny boots, you are asking for it -

In any case, at the end of stage 2, let the Kiwi dry first. Applying a number of thin layers over each other and letting each layer dry before applying the next works better than using a big swag of the stuff.
Also, if you run the flame over the Kiwi just long enough to melt it, it won't damage the leather. Also, keeping the flame on one spot too long makes the melted Kiwi run in streaks, and you get a lot of clumping. Zippo lighters burn at a lower temperature than the butane sort and work better.
As for the shining part, you get even better results with cotton swabs (no Kiwi) under a slowly running tap. -
bring it to the shoe polishing shop, the buffing machine will polish it until u can see your face.
hmm... i wonder whether SAF Band people polish their parade shoes there too? -

my over the weekend method was....
apply a generous amount of kiwi on boot...let it set overnite...
if u impatient...can use brush...but dun press brush...let the edge of the bristles do the work....
if u patient..use cotton wool...add water...and use circular movements....add very small amounts of kiwi on wool till shine...
my chiong sua boots could shine in like 5mins though...i think cos parade boots arent as seasoned... -

was pondering over using those hand held polishing machines, got this brush or sponge attached to a small electric motor. -

Aiyo.. i have a headache as to how to PERMANENTLY get rid of fungi growth on the exterior surface of my rarely-worn parade boots. How?

use liquid kiwi also can, but the shine only last for 1 day. but i don't really recommend it, as i find it will damage you boots. wax kiwi is still the best.
