never liked the quadrant sight....leaf sight stilll rocksOriginally posted by nightzip:looks very conjested, esp. with the scope and the quadrant site and the LAD all so close together....hmm...think the solder must have "cock-eye" or dou ji yen, in order to use.![]()
Loved handling that. The weight needs a lot of reduction, especially the MMS model with the sights.Originally posted by Incedrius:It's the same gun. Except the second SAR21 just does not mount an LAD; it's not possible to mount the internal LAD with the M203 attached.
Uh... and the one with the Picatinny mil-std rails isn't likely to be issued to regular troops anytime soon. That includes Infantry, Guards, ADF, 1st CDO etc. CRF and SOF perhaps... seen some publicity pictures of them assaulting Pulau XXX... the normal one we all go to for beach assaults.
Sigh...
I wont hold my breath for a newer model of the SAR21. Seeing how not every unit even uses them, the priority is to get all regiments all using them first. Of course, if I had it my way, the teeth arms arms like Infantry, Guards and CDO would get newer versions first, and simply hand over the older model to the support arms... but nope, it aint gonna happen that way.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Managed to talk to the DSTA guy at AA2004.I told him about the weight concern and the ruggedisation of the whole-setup, he said give or take 2 yrs?For a lighter model.

Yes.Originally posted by Shotgun:Thats the idea... to have the ability to modify the weapon for any situation. Like the M4-Sopmod. Multi Mission Rifle/Carbine.

It was seen in the STK catalogue. And if you look at the above pic, the top-left soldier is holding oneOriginally posted by Incedrius:Sorry for reviving an old topic... But I came across an interesting picture here. I dont know how to copy just the image, so ill point u guys out to the site itself.

There's a picture of a SAR-21 with what seems to be an AG-36 mounted. Interesting isn't it? And it's mounted slightly lower, so the LAD *may* be still usable. Seeing how no version of the SAR-21-M203 is actually issued, I hope this is a serious idea... Though Im pretty sure it's for export only... as usual.![]()
After they get out of the water... they'd be asking the same question... "How the F#@! are we gonna get the water vapor out of the scope!"Originally posted by LazerLordz:
US Army evaluation?
Evaluators perhaps..Originally posted by Shotgun:After they get out of the water... they'd be asking the same question... "How the F#@! are we gonna get the water vapor out of the scope!"
Hur.
Btw, they don't look like US Army... Probably just evaluators in fatigues, if not one of their numerous civilian militias.
