okay lah. Their number 4 quite faded. Field pack also bleach until ORANGE colour.
Btw for those who didn't understand the ending...Project Pilot is actually a short film competition...the winner gets to turn the pilot episode into a drama series...so imagine if The Section won...we will have episode 2,3,4 so on....i personally hope it wins. Just to see what kinda nonsense will happen in future episodes. -

i personally feel its high time they have a drama or comedy series abt our guys in green...i mean, ANYBODY can relate, guys AND girls..if they can spend money on PCK and that stupid MY SASSY NEIGHBOUR, don't see why they can't do a serial on the army!

in all honesty the navy one was total crap. Just a publicity thing. poor storyline, the whole thing gave me the impression that it was a last-minute thing. and it was less than 10 episodes, half an hour?

why not they make a short 4-5 ep. drama on ACT, SISPECT/OCS, BRUNEI/TAIWAN/ ORD....
the phases in NSF, + maybe 1/2 ep. on ICT.
should be quite good rite? minus alway all the nonsense, talk talk love love draggy stories, something like the xin bin xiao chuan, short and precise, swift and deadly. -
anyway, nowadays never trust mediacorp to come up with any good scripts on army or navy or wat....
stories talk and talk and so little action, cuz they never actually do much research on the topic before writing the stories, not like the hongkongers. -

Story wise it reminded me of the movie "The Final Countdown", in which the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz was transported back to Dec 6 1941 the day before the attack on Pearl Harbor. In the movie the Japanese Zeros got their ass handed to them by the F14s.
I've always wanted to see how the present day SAF would be able to deal with the Japanese from WWII. But judging by what was shown in the pilot they ain't fairing too well. But would they redo the pilot if it was selected? By the way they don't look like they've got much in terms of budget.
There aren't many Sci-Fi shows being produced in Singapore that were very good, this hopefully might be different. Maybe broaden out a little in terms of stories, time travel, alternate universe etc.
I would like to see some variety in locally produced shows instead of the regular sappy dramas or cheesy comedies.
Also there aren't a lot of TV shows about the SAF that were any good.
If they are to produce this as a TV series, MINDEF should consider providing some of the more up to date gear for PR reasons, instead of M16s maybe give them SAR21s, instead of the 30 round magazines for the Ultimax provide the drum mag. Then both the audience and MINDEF benefits, we the audience can see some of the "cooler" stuff that we never get to see and MINDEF gets free publicity by showing off what they've got. That's if they redo the pilot.
Maybe the "Section" can do for MINDEF what "Stargate SG-1" does for the USAF. The USAF provides support in terms of the technical details and they cash in on the free publicity they get from the show. -

But the show brings up an interesting point: what if while on exercise, u contact a real enemy...and all u got are blanks? LOL It IS a possibility u know. -
