  in that case how come a deserter from my department AWOL for half a year liao still no one go catch him? my friend even saw him outside not long ago.

  Are you saying that a CPL can arrest anyone up to 7 ranks above him?Is it also true that for offences involving MAJ and above, you need a 2LT?

  Nope... an MP of any rank can arrest any soldier of any rank, as well as any civilian who enters SAF territory.

  SAFPU considered combat service...wear blue beret but get combat allowance... and regarding the 7-rank thingy, a MP is empowered to arrest any personel of any rank. i have a fren who is a LCP, book a Major for speeding...
