  indeed. considering now that SISPEC has relocated back to Pasir Labar Camp, the new premises can accommodate more trainees. and hey, SAFTI is just next door.

  I'm not too sure about that, I thought I've heard of a 2 week BLC that will determine whether the trainee stays in SISPEC or gets posted out to other combat arms?

  when i was in sispec...it was the first 6 weeks....and the end of course where crossover windows are open.....but heard from enciks that OCS wannabes will go thru sispec first next year due to the centralisation of command schools..

  hmm..I think it is still higher than like 20+ years ago when people had only 1-2 children..

  BSLC will be spit into 2 phases. 1st phase all the potentials will be assessed and sent to OCS directly. These people will then complete their total 10 mnths and then carry on from there.
  
  At the end of BSLC, one group will leave as specs training in Support arms. Another grp of potentials will be sent to OCS AGAIN to undergo 10 mths training.
  
  Those who stay for ASLC will be then re-assesed and the best of the cohort, like the bayonet winners will then go to OCS for 6 mths coz as guards or inf officers.
  
  This is the exact roadap for the future of the officer intakes.

  Now this is a good concept. Atleast there is a further window to observe and pick the potential as compare to the short BMT period. Hopefully, those wayangs and CMI ppl will be filter out.

  WAnyang and CMI will go to OCS in the first batch. This doesn't serve to filter out the wayangs and does not stop people with no management and multi tasking potential from being selected to be officers.
  
  What they need to do is to have some kind of *proper* planning exercises (no - Planning for a quick attack is not proper planning. It is in most cases a no-brainer IE Terrain...blah blah blah H-hour - blah blah blah. Ammo - SOP).
  
  The days of officers in their freshly starched uniform buttons gleaming standing on a trench or riding on a horse waving his shiny sword around whilst shouting "Tally- Ho - Charge!" are largely over. The selection process needs to reflect that.
