Simple.A commando is a vocation, and he will still have to respect the rank of an officer.Anything else will make a mockery of our Army.Originally posted by kenshin_himura:ani diff in status or ranks??

OH..you're talking about cross command eh.Originally posted by alwaysdisturbed:like a normal infantry officer wun go n command a grp of commandos who r specs or men rite?
yeah...infantry officers cant really lead commandos to full effect as commando officers and warrant officers can....u cant use conventional on unconventional....but u can use unconventional on conventionalOriginally posted by LazerLordz:OH..you're talking about cross command eh.
I've heard of Commando officers commanding other vocationalists.But seldom the other way around.
I think someone has already mentioned earlier. Commando is a unit, whereas officer is a rank. Each unit follow a chain of command Officer>Specialist>Men for effective relying of information or for better management of the organistion in peace and wartime operations. In layman terms, each unit has their own officers and specialists corp working together to safe guard the nation.Originally posted by kenshin_himura:ani diff in status or ranks??
'Downgrade' is a strong word here. I would use 'revocate' instead. Since the infantry and commando units run on two different set of doctrines, the likewise is also true. Respective revocationists may not be able to maximize their potential or faces new job difficulties in the new leadership assumed without sweating it out and knowing the modus operandi of the respective unit.Originally posted by nightzip:rockhound is correct.
Cuz infantry directive is different from commandos, as also they tactics and war strategy...etc. it may even go all the way different in ops, intelligences, manpower, transport, logistics, etc...
so inf. officer lets say major or half-colonel normally dun cross over to go command a CDO battllion, cuz he may not know ways of battles pertaining to CDO style.
While CDO offr, can always "down-grade" themselves and do conventional warfare.
yup.. its like u can b doing sales, marketing, HR, etc.. (e.g. commando, infantry, guards) but inside ur dept will have manager, general manger, etc (specialist, officers)Originally posted by o-lua:erm.. digressing.
maybe try intepreting it as...........
commando = job/profession
officer = rank/seniority
how does it explains.. ?
