  If I can still remember, no external clothing are allowed to be worn together with the uniform right?

  by right it's not allowed. got 1 time, the HQMC Formation RSM stopped a guy wearing a jacket in no.4 and gave him a 1 x good one.

  Why not, I can buy the same Goretex boots outside.But I personally think it's funny to be wearing them.

  Basically there are 5 types of uniform
  
  No 1: Ceremonial, All ranks
  That white uniform, pants has colour stripes for diff services.
  
  No 2: Dinner, Officers
  Rarely seen
  
  No 3: Office wear, All ranks
  
  No 4: Combat wear, All ranks
  
  No 5: Events, Officers
  This one can be with or w/o jacket..
  (The shirt is the long sleeve version of the No 3 right?)

  all the uniforms apply to all ranks, not just officers. warrant officers also wear no. 2 and 5.
