guys, any good military novels to recommend? maybe we can even exchange lols...so far i have read The Commandos-Inside America's Special Forces, and Inside the Marines-the untold story...btw went to kino at taka just now, bought Inside Delta Force and Kopassus-Indonesias Special Forces....dont mind lending anyone whos interested after i finish!

All these books got a lot of pictures ah? Theres this novel called 1904. As implied by the title, happens in 1904 where Germany fictionally invades the US. Great description of a naval battle in the later chapters.

by any chance u stumble across books of their other spec forces? like the indonesian marines and their paskasau or something (airforce special force i believe) -

Blackhawk Down???

Blackhawk down was a good book. Really gave more insights into that episode, more so than the movie itself.
The kopassus book cannot make it! i was thinking it was about their training and stuff, but turns out its one bloody long history lesson. FARK. on the other hand the delta force book ROCKS! One of the BEST books i ever read. Just reading about how they train...man. Blew my MIND! -
Bravo 2 0 is GOOD.. read that when i was in sec 1 or 2.. then there's BHD as you all know, that one is a classic too. another good book is Task Force Dagger by robin moore; -hell, after reading that book i wanted to go to afghanistan as a merc to hunt down taliban. the book by michael durant (pilot of super 6-4) titled 'in the company of heroes' is quite good too as it tells you what happened to him during his captivity. really compliments BHD. there's one by matt eversmann too but i haven't read that one. but i think the BEST, and i mean really GOOD forever, would have to be Band of Brothers. man that book rocked my socks... just my 2 cents worth.

There is an alternative account by Chris Ryan, the other member of BRAVO 20. It's titled " The One that got Away ". Ryan was the only member that managed to make it to the Syrian border. His story has some inconsistencies with that of Andy McNab. Which was the basis of a Discovery Channel documentary 2 or 3 years ago, which was trying to trace the SAS men who died in that event.Originally posted by casshern:bravo two zero is a good book!
It is not as well written as Bravo 20 but if you really want to have a "all views" perspective of that event, might as well read the Ryan book. -
