the allure of war and the notion that we stand on the wall, and be the unappreciated sheepdog so that others may live in peace and to protest against us.Originally posted by wuming78:interesting notion! i always wonder what is it exactly that makes people feel "garang" and what makes people yearn and aspire to feel this way, hence wanting to sign on. got books on that?![]()
There is an alternative account by Chris Ryan, the other member of BRAVO 20. It's titled " The One that got Away ". Ryan was the only member that managed to make it to the Syrian border. His story has some inconsistencies with that of Andy McNab. Which was the basis of a Discovery Channel documentary 2 or 3 years ago, which was trying to trace the SAS men who died in that event.Originally posted by casshern:bravo two zero is a good book!
oh yes i forgot about this one. it's quite a thriller too cause you know that everyone on B 2 0 got caught, and this guy came SO CLOSE to being caught, that when i read those parts, my heart was actually pumping la as i thought he was gonna get caught, but i mean it was already obvious that he would escape. a good non-fiction thriller.Originally posted by specfore:There is an alternative account by Chris Ryan, the other member of BRAVO 20. It is not as well written as Bravo 20 but if you really want to have a "all views" perspective of that event, might as well read the Ryan book.
