  Ranks of servicemen in uniformed services

  
  The ranks of servicemen in the uniformed services of the Singapore Armed Forces, in order of seniority, shall be as follows:

  
  1.
      General/Admiral
  2.
      Lieutenant-General/Vice Admiral
  3.
      Major-General/Rear Admiral (Two-Star)
  4.
      Brigadier-General/Rear Admiral (One-Star)/ME8 (Military Expert 8)
  5.
      Colonel/ME7 (Military Expert 7)
  6.
      Senior Lieutenant-Colonel

      Lieutenant-Colonel/ME6 (Military Expert 6)

  Might as well call it Specialist 2nd Class(new rank), Specialist 1st Class(3SG). 2SG and above for regulars.

  Okay, on a side note. Check my analysis.
  
  If we have similar (not identical) rank structure with the US army, I figure it would be benefitial for interoperability with US Forces. A conflict in our region, would probably involve US forces as well. If our 2 armed forces are gonna operate together, having a similar rank structure would allow us to maintain the chain of command on the ground.
  
  U think SAF is working towards interoperability with US forces ?

  I'd say we already have a similar rank structure..from what I can remember..
  
  PTE : PTE
  LCP : PFC
  CPL : LCPL
  3SG : CPL
  2SG : SPC ---> moves on to Technical Sergeant?
  1SG : SGT
  SSG : SSG
  MSG : SFC
  
  Then we have the Master Gunnery Sergeant for the Marines.

  Vocation Grade? Might be just something to grade u how well u do in your vocation.

  Their specialists ranks are a bit different.

  I think if the latest rank system required to be put on collar, it is still better saved us the money to sew the rank. Anyway, u heard of the latest rank

  Thought vocation grade is something like your degree of expertise?
  
  Something like
  REC is 00 (zero zero)
  Auto Tech is 45 (four five)
  Turret Tech is 50 (five zero)

  well,RSM bryan did tell me n the rest something regarding new collar rank. He also mentioned that No.4 uniform would soon include "vocation" sew on badge on the right side above pocket.

  Vocation as in "army", "navy" or "air force"?? What about formation signs?

  well maybe now this will be more useful.
  
  Previously,all those who are A levels or diploma holders will have to get their corporal rank so that they will serve their 2 1/2 year,so there was a necessity to give corporal rank to all of them.
  
  Now that all will only serve 2 years,a corporal rank is no longer needed.
  
  So maybe recruit--->private first class--->lance corporal--->corporal ?
  
  previously they need to locally promote corporal to become sargents so that they will be section commanders,now maybe the men will be private first class or lance corporal while the section commanders will be the corporals?

  pushing the estab down eh?won't do much for the morale I tell ya.But it might be something that is needed..however sergeants now are not locally promoted, they are of a full rank what.

  i see,maybe i am outdated then.For my battalion back then,all the section commanders were locally promoted.
