as of above. looks like i cannot do anything about it now, so can anyone weigh out the pros and cons? pay? but the irony is that im in the commander batch, so either go sispec or ocs. help me somebody please!

Erhhh... I don't believe you go to sispec or OCS if you posted to SCDF. Pretty certain you going for some other course within the SCDF not SAFTI.

I knew a chap from poly who went through BMT and later became an officer in the SCDF .... don't know what route he went through to get there though .... and yes ... he's an NSF .... -
Most probably you'll be enlisted into the SCDF officer course, and become a 2LT firefighter at the end of it. By the way, it's not true that people from the so-called 'commander batches' go either sispec or ocs. -
oh ok can you tell me more about this officer course please? like, is there a confinement week? what's the pay for the officer cadets? then what would i book out in? civvie or uniform? how many people are there in this course at any one time? (got tekaning or not? haha
) do i stay in bunks or book out at night? 'prestegious' or not? what can i expect to learn from this course? how do people get selected for this course? -

Paywise for SCDF officers i suspect should be comparable to SAF officers, which means somewhere in the region of 1k. -

cuz they usually do NOT post NSFs to police or SCDF as much, most posted there eventually become specialists or officers.
Anyway, you get to learn things different from conventional warfare which others do, isnt that a good and practical thing ?
