i really dunno how am i going to take it for the next 2 years
basically, a lot of what is said here is true
infantry men are pretty slack; before you know it, you'll be cursing the 'hurry up and wait' routine
take everything as a learning experience. if you've not done any camping, now is time to try. i love taking a leak or dump out in the exercise area, san mosquito, of course.
learn to take it easy, make friends, try not to keng too much. look on the bright side, it's 2 years, not 2.5. and also, after you're out, you can get swap BS and get into 'my unit tougher than yours' discussion.

i hope you have responsible officers and specialists. they make a lot of difference. what i see nowadays is, everyone wants the rank but have no ideas of responsibilities.
so for guys gunning for OCS or SISPEC, know that the men lives are in your hands in times of peace training and emergencies. so, don't be an idiot. look after your men and they will look after your missions; work together. men don't get fcuk, leaders do.
as for your parents, tell them to wake up their ideas. seriously. their son is going to serve, learn new skills and all that so that in time of need, their assess and assets are covered. it's time for you, as well as them, to grow up.
