  Never heard before but there is ' Combat Medic, fire Team Leader, grenadier, rifleman and, autorifleman

  'Support infantry'? Are you referring to the support personnel in the infantry formation (medics, pioneers, signallers, anti-tank personnel, etc?)
  
  By the way, I sure hope you don't see those support personnel as any 'better' or any 'worse' than the common infantryman. We all have different jobs to do, and different tasks to fulfill. It doesn't do justice to anyone in the formation if you start labelling them as 'better' or 'worse'.

  When you are posted there after BMT. Then you know you are fit for it

  If I'm not wrong, you need O Level qualifications to be a medic. I guess it has to do with the fact that the course has a rather substantial academic component.
  
  Generally speaking, though, most medics are poly or 'A' Level grads. I've seen ITE and 'N' Level medics around, but not too many of those.
